I m a Proud Indian

After 60 yrs, yesterday India recieved historical ayodhya verdict. I realize the complexity of Indian Society. If you travel 2 kms, you will land up with different society, tradition, language, fooding style, region, caste, but today i realized we are ONE. We have more than 14 political parties, (first time in my life) speaking in one voice. All cultures, caste, region speaking for Peace. Not only that, the maturity of the people have been demonstrated after the verdict. Not even single incident of volience. What so ever may be the verdict, the people recieved it with respect. " Unity in deversity ", what i read during my 5 th standard, but today i have seen it. I m proud to be an Indian. Its a feeling that will live for ever. If some one what to know the meaning of Brotherhood, simplicity with complexity....They have to live in India.

CWG - Shame for our Country

I strongly feel that the CWG organization have failed and put each and every Indian's head down. Our government organizations does not know the meaning of Professionalism, Team work, Responsibility, Project management. I feel ashamed as an individual, when i hear the reports of 7 CW countries after they visited the Games Village. We should have made our country proud, by doing a world class job. Some one from the Government should explain what is happening and we need to bring down all responsible peoples under the Law.

Remembering my Gurus

As we celebrate teacher's day today in India. I was thinking about some of great teachers, because of whom, i have here. All what i achieved thusfar, wouldn’t be possible without their guidence. In other words, My life would be incomplete without them.
UKG - LKG - Vaishanavi. My mother would tell me that Vaishanavi mam use to have strong believe in me.
I still remember my Head master (Its sad i don't remember his name). he used to tell moral stories during the prayer meetings.
Damodar, Abi, Falicita, Victoria, Rani were few of my high school teachers, whom encouraged me, specially to participate in extra - circular activities
During my college days, my priniciple Sivanandan, my professor Shaktivel had a huge impact on my leadership skills. I learnt working close with them.
Teachers don't stop at colleges. i had Ravi srinivasan, UKU, Puri, Alex, Gadiyar as my mentors during early career.
Most recently, I have wonderful mentor Joe. He is there for me as a good friend, guide and a true teachers.
Last, but not the least, my father and my mother. They are my Biggest Guru.
Thanks you God for brining these people into my life. What i m today, is because of those people i mentioned above.

interesting facts about global warming

During flat owners meeting, i learnt few things
already 70% of himalayan glacier, which is source for River ganga melted. After 20-30 years, there are chances that river would get dried.
Group of researcher planted a long scale in the antarctic to measure the rate at which glaciers melts. They found that 20-30 feet of glacier had melted in 3 years, normally this would have taken 20 years to melt.
Even my friends in chennai are telling that in Merina beach, the distance between the road and beach had considerably reduced. This gives indication for raising sea level.
Another study shows that in another 20-30 years, their is really threat for our coastal region.

Cap for CEO Salaries

Now our great MPs are pushing hard for the new companies Bill.
Salaries of chief executives should be capped and shareholders should have a say in managerial remunerations, a parliamentary panel on the new Companies Bill has suggested.Read more at: http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/parliamentary-panel-suggests-cap-on-ceo-salaries-49810?cp

What do you mean by Growth

If some one what to know the real meaning of GROWTH, they should see the recent affadavit filed by UP CM. She had property worth of 35 Cr, now after 3 years there is 67% increase in her property. I imagine if our GDP grows at this rate, we would be the richest nation in the world.

Mangalore Air Tragedy

I learnt that Mangalore Air accident was worst one for India in last 10 years. 160+ people lost their life, 8 people escaped. Lot of theories are being discussed in news channels....what they will do. Is it due to pilot landed in 2000 ft instead of 1000 ft or is he over stressed or is it over speed ...what went wrong ? as i type this, i m seeing the latest news that the throttle was found in forward position, which means that the pilot would have tried to take off again. How can 10000 hrs experianced pilot , who landed in mangalore for 19 times could do that. All i wish is that the government take necessary steps to make sure that such a tragedynever repeat anywhere in the world.

Downey Jr. did it again

i and my cousin watched Iron Man 2 recently. it was very entertaining. I really liked Paltrow's matured acting. Lot of drama, emotional touches, action. it is a good action packaged entertainer, but nothing new at all.

The Cult of Vishy

I admire the modest of Viswanathan Anand, even after winning the World Chess Championship. I would call him as humble living legend & real hero of Indian Sports. He set role model for determination. Congratulations V.Anand !!

Kind Attention Mr. Prime Minister

First it was Tharoor, now it is Jayram Ramesh. After a year, I feel there is lack of self discipline among the members of UPA, specially the ministers. Jayram Ramesh's comments on Home affairs during his China trip about India's approach towards China is UNWANTED and UNCALLED for. Each Ministers need to look and develop the portfolio allocated to them. Have they done enough. Do they know what TEAM WORK means. These comments not only dilute our foreign policies but also our internal security. Let us first learn to WORK TOGETHER as a Team but better development of our Nation, please don't gain person scores and play politics here.

Way to go Dr. Singh and Dr. Sibal

I heard some one saying "Right to Education Act is the greatest policy announcement after declaration of Indian Independence"…That’s very true.
Addressing the nation on the Right to Education Act that come into force today, Dr. Singh said: “The Government is committed to ensuring that all children irrespective of gender and social category, have access to education and, fund constraints would not be allowed to hamper implementation of the Right to Education Act.”
“To realise the Right to Education, the Government at the Centre, in the States and Union Territories, and at the district and village level, must work together as part of a common national endeavour. I call upon all the State Governments to join in this national effort with full resolve and determination,” he added. He also said Dalits, the minorities and girls would be the focus of the effort to provide education to all. Looking back at his own life, Dr. Singh said he came from a family of modest means. He had to walk a long way to school and studied under a kerosene lamp.
“Today, What I am, I am because of education. So, I want that the light of education should reach to all,” he added.Great Job Dr. Singh and Dr. Sibal. This is great act and will help us if rightly implemented by the state government.

Smart Answers by Smart Indian

Answering to questions from Editor in chief of News channel, SRK answers like this, some educated and modern Muslim people like him, should spread the message of real Muslim value is and what it means. So that every one understand.
During Dr. Manmohan Singh’s visit to US, the then president Mr. Bush used the following words to introduce Singh to first lady, Mr.Singh is the prime minister for a country where there are 150 million muslims but no one is Taliban. The editor asked SRK about being second largest country based on Muslim population, how Indian muslims are different from them in Pakistan or Afganistan. SRK replied that Indians basically understanding and adjustable people. True !! Very True !!….

Do you know the top political issue?

Look at the arguments,
01. Congress would not share the stage with some one who endorse Modi…
Big B endorses tourism for Gujarat, he does not endorse Modi
Lot of industrialist said that Modi is PM material, did congress avoid inviting them or sharing the dias with them
02. AB is father’s son so what is wrong is removing his video and posters from the Earth day celebration and web site in WWF…
- How can they act on the child when they have misunderstanding with his father. Its very childish act of congress. Then, we can drive relationship with Varun and Rahul…
03. Comparing BIG B with Industrialist is like comparing Apples and oranges…
- Because any attack on BIG B creates publicity for free, while no attack on Industrialist bring money
04. Congress is TALIBAN says Modi…
-Mr. CM, what do we say about 2002 riots where thousands of people died, is that not TALIBANIsm
-Mr. CM, what do we say when people shared sweets after each tomb of Babri Mosque brought down, are they Talibans

Can some MBA or public administration inititute take summer class or camps to educate these politicans and show them what their role towards development politics is all about.

Building Taj Mahal

Last week, was watching in some informatics channel a documentary of how taj mahal was build. Its pure engineering, nothing more or less. It is great building stand tall for engineers to come and learn. In a age which don't enjoy as much as we do now with machines, automation, tools, it is amazed to see what could imagination of one person, dedication of thousand crafts men, turn into a building. Starting from the foundation of the building, where hundreds of huge column were made and filled with sand so as to create a structure, which could stand strong on the banks of Yamuna River. Moving the marble stones from Rajasthan to Agra could not be easy task. I was surprised to listen that the great emperor created artificial famine in Agra so that he could divert all food supplies to support the work force there. In the fast moving world could we create a wonder, which will stand tall for centuries to come? I doubt? Only time have to tell us

Our iceberg is melting

Wow !!..wondering how could great things get communicated in very simple lanuage. This book is all about change management and very relevent to our day-to-day life, not restricted to the career...we can easily corelate the theme with anything that get changes in our life. I could complete the book within 1.5 hours whiel traveling back to my home from Bangalore airport. it was very unique experiance to read books that too books like this.

Now all that is running inside my mind is very simple question "Is my iceberg melting ?"...

Modi appears before SIT

No one in India could have forgotten the 2002 Gujarat communal riots. Its shame in our Indian History. Till now, there were no strong actions. Law is taking its own time to give its verdict. But there is no shortage for News. Till last week it was congress and Media talking about Modi not apearing before SIT and they had their own assumption, now this week, its Modi talking about his heroism, nothing big , he just appeared before supreme court appointed Special Investigation Team. Only in India appearing before court, getting arrested become headlines. Nothing to teach, media is not bulding its own assumption about what could have SIT asked Modi..etc.,
Oh Well, we still haven't heard the judgement. why are we are allowing media trial to happen and giving corrupt / criminal politicians a chance to get political publicity

Is Bhagat Singh as a terrorist ? ......

Just i came across in net 'Congress projected Bhagat Singh as a terrorist'.....How rediculous is that ......When i read books or watch movies related to Bhagat singh, i m impressed. It was breathtaking experiance to understand the great contributions of Bhagat singh and his friends. But when i look around, there was no much talk on what these heros did. Indian National Congress always underplay or ignore the contributions of reveluntornary leaders like Bhagat singh or Subash chandra bose. No one could deny the fact that the Gandhi and Indian National congress led the freedom movement, but so as Bhagat Singh. These leaders should be treated beyond politics. It was Indian National congress or its leadership failed to create ONE INDIA, they cause the India - Pakistan seperation. But these leaders worked out a plan which brought us Free India....If asked for my rating, i would rate Bhagat Singh as no 1.

Stephen court- Kolkata Inferno

It was yet another shocking incident, which claimed 24 innocent life, 20 missing, 14 hospitalized when 6th floor of Kolkata’s famous 80 yrs old Stephen court got into fire. No proper exist, doors are locked, storage in the terrace, fire engines came late, no water on fire engines, no proper wooden ladder for rescue operations, fire hose could not reach the fire spot, people jumped from the 6th or 5th floors. Yeah, it is same story, which we heard after Bangalore’s corton building fire last month. No Lesson learnt? Government is going to conduct enquiry and give compensation. Already political parties started blaming each other. Oh, Well, GOD Please save us.

Historical US Healthcare bill

US passes landmark health insurance law, which means US on a par with Europe. Most Americans will now be required to have health insurance or pay a fine. Larger employers will be required to provide coverage or risk financial penalties. The self-employed will get health cover at reasonable costs. Total individual out of pocket expenses will be capped and insurers will be barred from denying coverage based on gender or pre-existing conditions. Let us level power to Americans to decide whether the bill will overhaul the 40 years old healthcare policies of US. However, couple of thoughts on how a bill hit India. Indian IT stands to benefits from US healthcare reforms specially BPOs handling insurance clams says a leading Indian daily. The reforms will bring 32 million poor and emigrant Americans under insurance cover. Insurance firms will look at the outsourcing partners to help them enroll new members and process their call and claim needs. Raising cost pressures will force insurers and hospitals to concentrate only on a few core functions such as benefits and services design, sales and marketing, while outsourcing back-office functions like member database management, claims processing, support services and enrolment processing. This also brings huge opportunities for medical transcription provides as electronic health records (EHRs) implementation is likely to undergo some changes, paper records to electronic ones. Obama already apportioned $37 billion of stimulus funding for this. McKinsey estimates the growth of EHRs would require overall spend of $175 billion over next 10 years. US hospital would need some support to implement this system. It looks like, this Healthcare bill expected to take care of Indian IT sector health also.

Retreating Glaciers

Melting of Greenland glaciers get 80% faster. Alaska glaciers are melting 30% faster. The glaciers are retreating at faster pace then before. This is shocking statistics.
Lot of ice bodies turned down resulting in increase in the sea level. Let us see what happens when sea level raise by 7 meters. Florida would be worst hit, most part of Brittan would have gone, and lot of costal areas of other continents would have gone underwater. If we see past history of 1000 years, the landscape was carved by nature. Our human intelligence towards overwriting nature and the quest of faster growth & comfort accelerated the natural disaster. When technology or innovation happens focusing only on betterment of human race, lose its focus on what damage it creates to the environment. We don’t realize that in parallel to our growth / human development, we create enough damage to earth. When we look back what we did, are we looking ahead of handing over safe place to the generations to come? Are they going to pay for the damages we have created? Let us think!

India and Racism

Don't we have racism in India ? Do we treat everyone equal irrespective of color or cast or religion ? Do we give opportunities to everyone based on the credits only ?
Answer to all the question is a BIG NO.........
I, myself felt the racial discrimination due to color or region i belong to. We see lot of political pressure and media focus on Ozs for Racial attacks in auz. But why are we slient towards what is happening within India. Political parties give tickets based on cast vote bank. There are lot of placed where a Black skin gets you nothing, even if you have credits. We have importance to skin color and pple do have assumptions to white skins and black skins. We have proof of fairness cream ads and their sales figure shows how crazy are we towards white skin. We need to replace cast or color or region based systems to credit based system. why are we lacking in it. There are lot of places in UP, Bihar, Orrisa, Tamilnadu where still discrimination against cast previels. We have systems in place, which don't work for the needy. We need a big Overhaul. Biggest Democracy won't work when half of its stakeholders / people don't participate.
When i think of myself, even after getting engineering degree, moving fast in career ladder and with a happy family, i have to struggle to come out of racisial attacks. I often dont listen to them or in other words ignore them, sometimes i treat them as a Jock. But that does not mean that there is no racism. Often pple tease me with my skin color or the state i belong to.
But it take lot of courage and self confidence to overcome these racist and prove to the world that credit matters and human values win over skin color. It is not a single persons journey, this need to be a mass movement to make everyone to see beyond the color, cast, region or religion.

All Is WELL

Just watched "3 idiots" movie ....it was great and i have added in my MUST TO WATCH movie list...Every parents should watch this movie...It is simple but very true and effective messages...
There is something for every one of us and i must say friends, if you haven't seen, please watch it once.
I was thinking, if i was not told about engineering then i wouldn't be baised towards taking engineering. i m wondering, what would be my interest. There could be 2 types of people, one who choose the path they like and the others like the path they choose or shown. I m in the second catergory. I started liking the path my parents shown. Hmm....there is a place everyone what to go and i m searching that....

its refreshing ...good

Yesterday, I watched Rahul’s answers to questions raised by students during students meeting during Mumbai youth congress meeting.

Watch Rahul's interaction with students in Mumbai in you tube Link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNAhAi0Gbbk

I can’t say its great or bad…but certainly and totally different approach. It is different from the normal politician’s speech. His speech is not attractive or strong. But it is very simple and straightforward.

Some of his thoughts,

He said, no harm in gong aboard for higher education. He said, if a person goes abroad for education and come back. He is brining knowledge, if he is not coming back, he will defiantly work there with Indian identity and make his country proud.

Though he invited youth to join politics, he said it would be great for countries progress if atleast every youth keep track of what is happening around politics.

He also said, to replace dirty water from a glass, either pour the dirty water out of the glass or pour good water to replace the dirty water. He sited this example to remove dirty politics out.

One think I liked asked is to be the change you want to see. (If you remember, Gandhi said the same)…

He is very clear in what he is saying or doing. He is having a clear vision and goal, which is great.

We have to wait and see how he is getting shaped…only time will test his vision….

Who are they to tell ?

Who is Shiv Sena to tell who need to stay in Mumbai who should not,
Who are they to dictate what to speak, what not....
Can’t I be free to move in my motherland. Can’t I work in a place where I see opportunity…
Who gave them the power to force the common public.....
Do we have any power center who can question them and stop them before they thing they are the right once to safe guard people of Mumbai....
i can't understand this stupid political game that these parties are playing..unfortunatly, they are playing with the stupid common man...where are we heading towards..
We are warning OZ government to stop racism against Indians...but inside India....in Business capital People from North or south are not safe..they dont know when they will get attached....We are telling or worried when Obama says something about outsourcing….think about this, within India we have parties who are not allowing their fellow Indians to work in their state, a person from UP can’t allowed to work in Mumbai…a notable business man, entertainer, youth can’t speak out what they think..
Is our Prime minister looking into this mess, how can he ask OZ PM to take action, when he can’t stop such actions in Mumbai or when he can’t stop racist remarks against our brothers and sisters from Northeastern India.
How can he get more jobs from other countries when a common man has fears to move within his nation?
Yesterday Mr. Uddhav commended Film stars to act not to speak out, asked Cricketer only to play not to comment on polities. Why are we celebrating Republic day, when our basic right to speak is challenged by so called political stupid. They are very few in number, we can crush them.
We should fight for our Freedom, fight for free India.... Free from these type of polities. which circles around corruption, vote bank polities, so called LEADERS thinking about their grand children future, generation polities......
After all, the only affected party is we...Stupid people of great democracy.....

Is India's growing economy threat to US ?

Obama in his 1st State of the Union address yesterday disappointed many of us in India by saying "You see, Washington has been telling us to wait for decades, even as the problems have grown worse. Meanwhile, China's not waiting to revamp its economy. Germany's not waiting. India's not waiting. These nations aren't standing still. These nations aren't playing for second place. They're putting more emphasis on math and science. They're rebuilding their infrastructure. They are making serious investments in clean energy because they want those jobs."
Is Obama, trying to create a enemy or threat which never exist and try to get his bills passed or trying to cover-up his lack of execution to tackle domestic problems. There is 10-15% of unemployment in US. He had promised a lot on Employment, healthcare, but there is no significant work done on these areas.
I thought India and US are Strategic Partners in various areas. India is growing, it was not shaken by the economic crisis, we are learning to grow as stable economy, but US is far ahead of us in terms of "First place". The economy of India is the twelfth largest economy in the world by nominal value and the fourth largest by purchasing power parity (PPP). How can Obama mislead US people and leaders by creating India as threat for US Economy?
US Inc are outsourcing their jobs to make use of low operating cost in countries like India, which would yield revenue. Also, when we are in the world of globalization, when we are in the world of global customers, when US Companies are in peak of its competition to sell its product offering with low cost...how can we restrict companies to have jobs only in US. When we have customer in Asia to buys a product, making it in US and shipping it would cost more...how can economy of US will grow....
We need more of Collaborative growth between India and US. We have Knowledge power, low operating cost. US should make use of it. and OBAMA should focus on Organic growth and do some real stuff. I had expected more from Obama after hearing his campaign speeches. But after a year also, he is speaking more...which is great. but he is losing his credibility.
In fact, each nation is focusing of its own growth. You name it as India, China, or Germany. They are focusing on how to increase their GDP growth, creating employment opportunities, improving Health care, education infrastructure.
Instead of creating fear psychosis, Obama need to act quickly before millions of my friends in USA loss their trust with their president.
Let his action speak more then words...

Great India....

Today, Me and Maha watched the Republic day parade ..The President of India, who is also the Commander in Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, relishes the salute. The Chief Guest of the parade is the Head of State of another nation....I then thought of sharing some facts....

India......

Born with Indus Valley Civilization in such sites as Mohenjo-Daro, Harappa, and Lothal, and the coming of the Aryans....It is in the Vedic period that Hinduism first arose: this is the time to which the Vedas are dated. ...

Fifth Century...Ashoka...spread of Buddhism..

Eigth Century, Islam first visit to India...

The European presence in India dates to the seventeenth century..

The Rebellion of 1857-58, which sought to restore Indian supremacy..

Successive campaigns had the effect of driving the British out of India in 1947. ...

With 1,150,000,000 (1.15 billion) people, India is currently the world's second largest country. India crossed the one billion mark in the year 2000, one year after the world's population crossed the six billion threshold. India is home for 17% of Worlds population...22 Official languages...over 1000 spoken languages....Sanskrit and Tamil are the classical languages of India according to the Government.....great example for UNITY in DIVERSITY....

Why we celebrate Republic day on 26Jan every year ?

Although India obtained its independence on August 15, 1947, it did not yet have a permanent constitution; instead, its laws were based on the modified colonial Government of India Act 1935, and the country was a Dominion, with George VI as head of state and Earl Mountbatten as Governor General. On August 29, 1947, the Drafting Committee was appointed to draft a permanent constitution, with Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar as chairman. The Constitution of India came into effect only on January 26, 1950, 10.18 AM IST. Following elections on January 21, 1950, Rajendra Prasad was elected as the president of India. The Indian National Congress and other parties had been celebrating January 26th as a symbol of Independence, even before India actually became independent. Thus, signing the constitution on January 26, to mark and respect January 26 and the freedom struggle and the freedom fighters.

Great Journey of 60 years......we have struggled a lot to be in a place where we are today....Consititution is what govern the country.....does it need a revision....do we need to amend it as per the changing environment...is the consititution only prinicples upon which our laws are made....Lot of questions arise when we see the new age politics....

Long way to go, we have just started ...We, are the greatest, largest, youngest republic of the world....We, are proud INDIANS
